GUACHINCHES
Typical local bar/restaurant with real local gastronomy. It belongs to humble local people who produce their own wine (it is not usually the best wine though). Food is very good and cheap|.
It is a great local experience to get a beter understanding of the local life and culture of the island.
WHAT IS A GUACHINCHE?
Traditional local food, initiated as local wineries that offer some bites on a remote houses next to the wine. Now they have a special license with lower taxations and you can have a feast food for 15€ Portions are HUGE.
Ask for 1/2 portion and try various things and always double check with the bartenders if it’s too much! My recomendations are: "queso asado", "garbanzas", "huevos al estampida", "chistorra", "carne de fiesta" and "quesillo" (desert).
If you ask for local wine, consider mixing it with 7up/sprite. Is the typical local way to make a tinto de verano and drink it!!!
Call to see if they are open;
- Guachinche La huerta de Ana y Eva
- Guachinche El cubano
- Guachinche El romance
- Guachinche La casona
- Guachinche Casa lito
